What people dislike about CoinMarketCap’s portfolio
Cluttered, ad-heavy interface
CoinMarketCap is a data platform first. The portfolio tracker is an afterthought wedged between banner ads and promoted tokens.
No integration with your notes
Your buy rationale, DCA history, wallet addresses, and tax notes live in a separate app — or in scattered notes apps. Nothing is connected.
Your data, their platform
CMC portfolios are not easily exportable. If the feature changes or disappears, you lose your history.
No custom layout
You get the views CMC gives you. You can't add custom properties, filter by category, or build a gallery view with your coin icons.
Why Notion is a better home for your portfolio
It lives in your workspace
Your investment data is already connected to your notes, goals, research pages, and daily tasks — no context switching.
Full control over layout
Build table, gallery, or board views. Add any property you want. Sort by P&L, filter by coin type, display only what matters to you.
Link to everything
Each coin row can link to a research page, DCA log, wallet address, or tax note. Notion's relation properties make this seamless.
Your data is yours
Export anytime as CSV. Share with a partner via Notion sharing. Your portfolio history doesn't disappear if a product shuts down.
The missing piece: live prices
The one thing CoinMarketCap had that Notion didn’t was live prices. Pulsn fills that gap — it connects CoinGecko to your Notion database and keeps every price property automatically updated, on a schedule you control.

How to migrate from CoinMarketCap to Notion
Export your CMC portfolio
In CoinMarketCap, open your portfolio and look for an export or CSV download option. This gives you your coin list and holdings.
Import into Notion
Create a new Notion database and import the CSV, or simply recreate the rows manually — most portfolios have fewer than 20 coins.
Add properties for prices
Add Number properties: Current Price, Market Cap, 24h Change. Leave them empty for now — Pulsn will fill them in.
Connect Pulsn
Go to pulsn.app, connect your Notion workspace, and build sync flows for each coin. Your prices will start updating automatically.
